Jalen Wilson, a four-star forward prospect out of the 2019 college basketball recruiting class, has backed off from his commitment with the Michigan Wolverines.
This isn’t exactly stunning given the fact that the program lost its head coach to the NBA. Furthermore, since it came out of nowhere, it’s unlikely many recruits are going remain committed to the school — though, it is important to note that assistants still on staff will be able to recruit these kids all over again.
As for Jalen Wilson, not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have him pegged as a four-star talent, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 50 (or so) best players in the entire 2019 grouping.
Blue-blood programs like the Kansas Jayhawks were initially in the mix to land the young man’s services before he made his original commitment. Obviously, plenty of schools will be interested in him now as well.
As for the Michigan Wolverines, this is part of the fallout that comes whenever there’s major turnover on the coaching staff, nevertheless the head coach.
