Justin Champagnie, a four-star prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has committed to play for the Pittsburgh Panthers. This news was relayed on Twitter by Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten, who claimed sources to obtain the information.
This is a great get for Pitt, as the program continues to build in a positive direction in a world after the entire Kevin Stallings debacle. While the Panthers didn’t exactly light this season on fire, they were certainly at least competent and showed an identity, which is a massive improvement.
As for Justin Champagnie, not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have the young man pegged as a four-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 100 (or so) best players in the entire 2019 recruiting class.
Even though he’s not a five-star, or a guy ranked within the top-60 or anything, this is important in helping to stabilize the Pittsburgh Panthers.
