Marcus Watson, a shooting guard prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has committed to play for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
This is relatively stunning, as some grassroots gurus pegged the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as the favorites to land his services.
A 6-foot-6 talent from Georgia, Watson also had serious interest from the Boston College Eagles, Oregon Ducks and an entire host of other quality programs.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have Marcus Watson pegged as a four-star caliber talent, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 70 (or so) best players in the entire 2019 recruiting class.
This is a petty huge get for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. While not nearly on the level as their in-conference brethren, the Cowboys have done a solid enough job on the recruiting trail to insert hope into the hearts and minds of the fanbase.
That being said, as it always is, this is a wait and see situation.
Nevertheless, Watson projects as a player who will make an immediate impact when he hits campus next year. Expect him to both earn minutes right off the bat and contribute in meaningful ways.
