The rich just keep trying to get richer in college basketball. Precious Achiuwa, a five-star prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the North Carolina Tar Heels. This is certainly a way for UNC to attempt to remain forever on top.
From the Bronx, Achiuwa is a 6-foot-9 wing who projects as a versatile talent when he inevitably hits a college campus.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have Precious Achiuwa pegged as a five-star caliber player, but most agree he’s one of the 10 (or so) best players in the entire 2019 recruiting class. In turn, it’s not exactly shocking that a blue-blood program like UNC would be after his services.
Speaking of the Tar Heels, North Carolina coach Roy Williams recently came under fire for how he’s handled a five-star freshman’s minutes this season. CBB Today recently defended the Hall of Fame coach, but it will be interesting to see if the negative perception hurts him on the recruiting trail.
The prospect has yet to take any official visits to North Carolina.
