Deivon Smith, a four-star point guard prospect out of the 2020 recruiting class, finished an in-home visit with the Louisville Cardinals. For those unaware, Chris Mack and company have already offered the young man a scholarship.
This news was relayed to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten. In Weingarten’s first report on the kid, he mentioned an official visit would take place during the first weekend of September. Obviously, this is the second weekend, meaning these are two different sets of visits.
Also of note, Chris Mack went in to see him.
However, important to note that the grassroots guru previously mentioned the fact that “five marquee” prospects would be visiting during that month.
A 5-foot-11 Georgia product, the Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Xavier Musketeers, and a whole host of other programs are vying for the young man’s services.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have Deivon Smith pegged as a four-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 50 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class. Given that, it’s not exactly shocking Louisville offered him a scholarship.
The Louisville Cardinals will have one of the best group of freshmen in the country for the upcoming college basketball season.
