DJ Steward, a five-star guard prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, has committed to paly for the Duke Blue Devils.
This news was relayed to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter by a variety of reporters. It appears, though, 247Sports grassroots guru Evan Daniels had it first.
“I’ll be heading to Duke University to play under Coach K,” Steward said to Daniels. “Me and my family went on the visit this weekend and it was amazing. We love the principles of Duke and how united Duke was as a program.”
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have DJ Steward pegged as a five-star caliber recruit, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 25 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class. It’s certainly worth noting this is a rise in the boards for the young man, as he was previously a four-star prospect in slotting around the fifties.
CBBToday recently wrote about how the Duke Blue Devils might be having a small change in recruitment philosophy. Steward would actually fit in that theoretical mold.
DJ Steward is obviously a huge get for the Duke Blue Devils.
