DJ Steward, a five-star guard prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, is taking an official visit with the Duke Blue Devils.
This news was relayed on Twitter by Stockrisers and Rivals reporter Jake Weingarten. The young grassroots guru also mentioned the young man had a visit with the Texas Longhorns just last week.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have DJ Steward pegged as a five-star caliber recruit, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 25 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class. It’s certainly worth noting this is a rise in the boards for the young man, as he was previously a four-star prospect in slotting around the fifties.
CBBToday recently wrote about how the Duke Blue Devils might be having a small change in recruitment philosophy. Steward would actually fit in that theoretical mold.
Obviously, only time will tell what happens, as plenty of other programs have also offered DJ Steward a scholarship. With the quiet period looming, but with him having time to make a decision, don’t expect too much noise the next month or so.
