Jaden Springer, a five-star prospect out of the 2020 recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the North Carolina Tar Heels. This news was relayed on Twitter by Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten.
This would be a seriously huge get for Roy Williams, as Springer projects to be an immediate impact type of talent.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service websites have Jaden Springer pegged as a five-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 11 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class.
It’s not just UNC that’s after his services. The Auburn Tigers, Clemson Tigers, UCLA Bruins, Virginia Tech Hokies, and a whole host of other quality programs are vying for his skills.
It’ll be interesting to see if anything that happened with Nassir Little this past season helps — or hurts, for that matter — the North Carolina Tar Heels on the recruiting trail. While there’s not yet a large sample to go off of, even though Little struggled to see time early in his collegiate career, it’s probably safe to assume Williams will be just fine.
