Zaire Wade, a point guard prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, is being heavily pursued by the DePaul Blue Demons and Rhode Island Rams. This news was relayed on Twitter by Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten. The Rams have actually offered him a scholarship.
And yes, the talented young man is the son of NBA legend Dwyane Wade.
From Florida, the point guard has already been offered a scholarship by the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Obviously, teams from the state are also eyeing the young man.
Where things between what people perceive and how others actually view him differ is on reputable recruiting service outlets. Most of those educated places have Zaire Wade pegged as a three-star caliber prospect, as well as someone outside of top 100 boards.
In fact, a few outlets do not yet have him ranked, leaving those jaded wondering if he’s only receiving as much hype as he’s received because of his father — which, honestly, is unfair to project on a kid who is trying to carve his own path in life.
Anyway, the DePaul Blue Demons and Rhode Island Rams would be thrilled to land him. Time will tell what program actually does, though.
