Daeshun Ruffin, a four-star guard prospect out of the 2021 college basketball recruiting class, has backed off of his commitment to the Auburn Tigers. The timing is a bit strange, as he originally committed to the program less than two weeks before deciding to reopen his recruitment process.
In a since deleted tweet, he made the announcement to join the program. Obviously, that’s no longer the plan.
It’s not yet known if the Tigers remain in serious consideration to land him all over again, but it’s worth noting he told Rivals upon his commitment, “Auburn is a great fit for me. The coaches, they have been on me from the start. They made me a priority and let me know the plan of the future for Auburn. They valued me and that means a lot.”
Mot only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have Daeshun Ruffin pegged as a four-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 75 (or so) best players in the entire 2021 recruiting class
Nevertheless, an unfortunate loss for the Auburn Tigers.
