Kalen Etzler, a four-star forward prospect out of the 2021 college basketball recruiting class, has committed to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes. The young made the announcement on the mean streets of Twitter with a short post.
“I’m just going to try to work,” Etzler told Eleven Warriors. “I want to try to be able to play as soon as possible when I’m down there, help them do as well as possible. They’ve got a good recruiting class coming in. A good transfer from Cal. Alonzo Gaffney, I like how he plays. We have similar games, he just has a little more length than me – his arms are long. DJ Carton, E.J. Liddell. They just got that 7-footer (Ibrahima Diallo). They’re going to be good.”
Not only do all reputable recruiting service websites have the young man pegged as a four-star caliber player, but most tend to agree Kalen Etzler is one of the 50 (or so) best players in the entire 2021 grouping.
A 6-foot-8 projected four, Etzler still needs to grow into his frame a bit, but that’s 100 percent normal for a person at his developmental stage.
Nevertheless, the Ohio State Buckeyes have landed a talented player early in his recruitment cycle.
