CJ Walker, a four-star power forward prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has scheduled a visit with the Miami Hurricanes. Famed grassroots reporter Evan Daniels relayed the news on Twitter.
According to Daniels, the visit will take place the weekend of September 8. While that’s before college basketball season hits, it is likely the Miami Hurricanes will use the allure of its football program — and base of fans — to help attract the youngster.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service websites have CJ Walker pegged as a four-star caliber player, but most agree he’s one of the 40 best players in the entire 2019 recruiting class.
A 6-foot-8 power forward, the Florida Gators, LSU Tigers and Louisville Cardinals are all also in the mix to land his services.
An athletic talent, Walker does seem like he might need a little time to develop, even if only to allow his body to naturally mature. Rare is the high school freshman who hits campus without needing a little physical and mental maturity, which is not a knock on any of them.
Nevertheless, Walker is intriguing prospect who is garnering interest from plenty of other programs like the Oregon Ducks and Arizona Wildcats. Only time will tell where he ends up.
