Jalen Cone, a four-star prospect originally out of the 2020 recruiting class, has now opted to reclassify to the 2019 grouping instead. He’s also cut his final potential landing spots to just six schools.
For those who won’t watch the video, the final six schools are the Tennessee Volunteers, North Carolina State Wolfpack, Boston College Eagles, Virginia Tech Hokies, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and Texas A&M Aggies.
He made this announcement on Twitter by saying, “I will announce my decision Thursday (May 9th) at 3:45pm @ Walkertown High School and it is open to the public! My decision will also be televised on Spectrum Sports, WXII News 12, and Fox8 News! #MyDecision” and followed that up by posting this video:
Nearly all reputable recruiting service outlets do consider Jalen Cone a four-star prospect. Not only that, though, as most tend to agree he’s one of the 60 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class.
Obviously, by now being a member of the 2019 class, some of his grades will change.
More importantly than that, with it already being May, his recruitment process is about to heat up. Especially since, you know, he said he will make his announcement in only a few days.
