R.J. Hampton, a five-star recruiting prospect who was rumored to change when he would hit college, has clarified he will stay in the 2020 recruiting class.
There was some speculation over the idea of him changing what class he would enter, but he took to Twitter on Friday to put to bed the rumors.
From his blog post on USA Today he went into detail as to why he decided to stay in the 2020 class instead of going in the 2019 version:
“I definitely felt like I have the ability to play in college next year, but I want to be ready for the NBA when I go to college. I know that developing my skill-set and my body over the next couple of years will help with that.”
Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma and a ton of other blue-blood programs are all after his services.
Of note, not only do all reputable recruiting service websites have him pegged as a five-star recruit, but all seem to agree R.J. Hampton is one of the five best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class.
