Al-Amir Dawes, a four-star point guard prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, will have an official visit with the St. John’s Red Storm starting on October 12. This news was relayed on Twitter by the New York Post’s Zach Braziller.
From New Jersey, the 6-foot-1 point guard has drawn interest from plenty of big boy programs, including the Clemson Tigers, DePaul Blue Demons, Providence Friars and a bevy of other quality schools.
As for Al-Amir Dawes, not only do most reputable recruiting service websites have him pegged as a four-star graded talent, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 100 (or so) best players in the entire 2019 recruiting class.
CBB Today recently wrote about St. John’s in terms of this upcoming season and the Red Storm’s weak non-conference schedule. Despite that, during our Big East Conference preview piece, we fully expect the Johnnies to be one of the better teams in the league and in a position to fight for an NCAA Tournament at-large bid.
We will you posted as more information on the guard’s recruitment process comes to the surface.
