Victor Rosa, a four-star shooting guard prospect out of the 2020 recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Rosa might sound like a familiar name to those who even only casually follow grassroots basketball. After having an absolutely stellar showing over the warm months, the 6-foot-5 standout received a rather positive comparison from his team director.
Team CP25 team director Anthony Ricks told grassroots guru Evan Daniels:
“Strengths of Victor Rosa, start with the fact that he’s 6-5 or 6-6 and a lights out three-point shooter at the guard spot,” Ricks said. “There aren’t many kids across the country that shoots it as well and release is as quick as Victor’s.”
“I don’t like to use NBA comparisons for kids often but Victor is as close to Klay Thompson that you will find at the high school level,” he added.
Yup. Klay bleeping Thompson.
Playing for Puerto Rico in the FIBA under 17 games, Victor Rosa averaged 15.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
Obviously, even if Rosa isn’t exactly Klay bleeping Thompson, it makes sense for the Arizona State Sun Devils to be going after his services.
