Dior Johnson, a five-star point guard prospect out of the 2022 college basketball recruiting class, is taking an unofficial visit the Arizona State Sun Devils.
This news was relayed on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten, who also mentioned the visit would begin on Saturday.
The Arizona State Sun Devils have actually already offered the point guard a scholarship. They’re clearly just trying to keep up with the youngster’s recruitment process.
It’s worth mentioning, despite the 2022 cycle being a few years away from mattering in earnest, the youngster has over a dozen scholarship offers at this point. Also worth pointing out, Johnson put up 25 points in his debut with Strive For Greatness earlier this month.
Not all reputable recruiting service outlets begin tracking a player this far out. That being said, those that do not only have Dior Johnson pegged as a five-star caliber player, but as one of the 15 or so best talents in the entire 2022 grouping.
Still, it’s relatively smart for programs like the Arizona State Sun Devils to get in on his recruitment process early. After all, bigger, bluer blood programs will be knocking at his doorstep soon.
