The Arizona Wildcats aren’t having a typical college basketball season, at least not by the program’s standards. Following yet another loss on Sunday, this time to Colorado, head coach Sean Miller essentially admitted as much.
“There’s a lot of things that are unusual for an Arizona team right now,” Miller said. “We’re just trying to be the best we can be.”
With the loss, Arizona dropped to 14-12 on the season. In the Pac-12, the Wildcats are merely 5-8.
Speculation has run rampant the last few weeks over Sean Miller’s job security. Following the dismissal of an assistant, people began to connect the dots, believing the athletic department was gearing up to let the coach go. That being said, it appears to be mostly conjecture, as the school has shown several public backings of Miller since then.
The Arizona Wildcats might be having a down season, but they are bringing in one of the best 2019 recruiting classes in the country. Time will tell, if allowed, if Sean Miller can return the program to usual form.
