Armando Bacot, a five-star prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has committed to play for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He announced his decision late Thursday afternoon.
The announcement was known to be coming, as were the finalists for his services. The Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina Tar Heels, Georgia Bulldogs, Oklahoma State Cowboys and VCU Rams were all in the mix.
A 6-foot-10 (or nine, depending on your preferred website) big man, Armando Bacot was heavily favored to go to either Duke or North Carolina. Obviously, we now know the answer.
Bacot will be a senior this season at the famed IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. According to most reputable recruiting service websites, he is one of the 27 best overall prospects in the entire class of 2019. He’s also a top-five talent in the state of Florida as well as being one of the eight best center prospects in the class.
Only time will tell how he handles college basketball, but he projects to make an immediate impact when he hits the scene for the 2019-20 campaign. Nevertheless, a great get for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
