Cam Hayes, a dynamically talented four-star prospect out of the 2021 recruiting class, took an unofficial visit with the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday.
This news was relayed to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten, who also mentioned there’s a possibility the youngster could reclassify to the 2020 class instead.
The news of the potential reclassification isn’t a new development, but it’s certainly something worth monitoring since it’s been regularly brought up in Hayes’ recruitment process.
The No. 1 ranked prospect in the state of North Carolina, there’s some slight discrepancy with how reputable recruiting service outlets rank the young man. Some do have him pegged as a five-star caliber player. It’s worth noting that since the initial reporter touts him as a five-star.
Weingarten calls Cam Hayes a top 20 prospect; though outlets such as 247Sports are slightly lower on him, ranking him as the 29th best talent in the entire 2021 recruiting class.
Obviously, if he reclassifies, much of the current information will alter significantly.
Nevertheless, the Maryland Terrapins are in on the recruitment on Cam Hayes.
