John Hugley, a four-star forward prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Connecticut Huskies.
This news was relayed to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten.
This continues the trend of quality schools extending scholarships to the youngster. One such school is the Pittsburgh Panthers, with head coach Jeff Capel having already offered Hugley back in January. There’s also the Florida State Seminoles, who have also given the forward an offer. Same goes for the VCU Rams, as they offered in the middle of May.
Not only do most reputable recruiting service outlets have the young man pegged as a four-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s floating around the top 150 (or so) best recruits in the entire 2020 class. It should be noted, however, 247Sports does have him listed as only a three-star in their composite rankings.
Nevertheless, a 6-foot-8 forward out of Ohio, John Hugley actually projects as a talent who develop pretty quickly when he hits campus. Furthermore, both the type who will likely be in college all four years and have a relatively high ceiling.
It’ll be interesting to see how far the Connecticut Huskies get in this specific recruitment process.
