The Wake Forest Demon Deacons fell to the Miami Hurricanes in the ACC Tournament on Tuesday, ending a rough season for the program. With people wondering if head coach Danny Manning will be back for next season, the embattled leader of Wake Forest addressed the issue after the game.
“I feel I’ll be back,” Manning said. “I look at the score sheet and everyone that scored is an underclassman. We had some guys that grew a significant amount this year in terms of their growth from the start to the finish, and that’s how we want to build it. We build it with our young guys, and we had a really good freshman class come in and got a lot of key contributions from a lot of guys throughout the course of the season.”
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons finished the season with an overall record of 11-20, only winning four games during ACC-play.
As for Danny Manning, with his fifth season now over, he’s taken the program to one NCAA Tournament so far.
We will likely know quickly if the school plans on keeping him or not.
