Duke Blue Devils freshman Zion Williamson came to college basketball a relative legend before ever hitting a collegiate hardwood. His lore was built through YouTube videos of him dunking from all over the place. However, his biggest presumed knock always circled around his shooting.
In a win against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Tuesday, Williamson scored 30 points, making three of his four attempts from beyond the arc.
“Coach is always telling me to shoot the ball, and at first I was like, if it’s not falling, I’m really not going to shoot it,” Williamson said via The AP. “Even when I miss, they say, `Keep shooting. You can make it.’ … Even after I shot one over the rim, they were like, `Z, shoot another one,’ and I got it right back and made it. I think my confidence shooting 3s is getting a lot better.”
Zion Williamson remains the heavy favorite to be the first pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
As for the Duke Blue Devils, they improved to 13-1 on the season.
