The Duke Blue Devils remained without Zion Williamson on Saturday, as the phenom is still out with an injury. It didn’t matter much, as the famed ACC program managed to defeat the Miami Hurricanes by 30 without him on the floor.
It’s been mixed results since Williamson’s shoe exploded in a game against the North Carolina Tar Heels. Coach K, as well as some teammates, have expressed how much of an impact it has had on Duke’s overall balance with him being out with the injury.
After the victory on Saturday, Jack White, who finally made a few shots from distance, bluntly stated the team’s emphasis is getting the phenom freshman back.
“Everyone plays their part in the team and does their thing, but our focus right now is to get Zion healthy and get everyone healthy and feeling good,” White said. “Just trying to have everyone playing their best basketball by that point. But you know, it’s not just about me — it’s a team effort.”
Zion Williamson is still listed as day-to-day.
Duke improved to 25-4 with the win.
