Jaden Hardy, a five-star guard prospect out of the 2021 recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship and that offer came from the Georgetown Hoyas.
While it’s obviously early in his recruiting process, as it stands in 2018, reputable recruiting service outlets that do track prospects that far down the road not only believe Jaden Hardy to be a five-star caliber player, but one of the 25 best in the entire 2021 recruiting class.
Obviously, given how much time will elapse over the course of the next few years, this could change dramatically, as it is insanely difficult to judge talent ahead of the curve.
Nevertheless, this is clearly a move by Patrick Ewing to get in on a projected top prospect’s recruitment as early as possible, likely hoping it could result in positive connotations and good vibes.
From Nevada, there’s really not direct ties for Hardy to the Georgetown Hoyas from a logistical point of view. Considering how a certain program from his home state has been doing the last few seasons, it isn’t shocking to see a coach from outside the area attempt something as (relatively) strange as offering a kid a scholarship three years out from his collegiate eligibility.
