The Gonzaga Bulldogs spent their Thursday evening walloping the BYU Cougars, defeating their WCC foes by 30 points. For those unaware of how math works, that’s a large margin of victory.
It was a group effort to earn the victory, with the Zags making 50 percent of their shots from beyond the arc, as well as nearly 50 percent of their attempts from the field.
“Our team just has so many weapons offensively,” Brandon Clarke, who scored 23 points, said. “I feel like it’s really, really hard to keep up with us in games if you don’t have five players that can match up with us.”
It wasn’t only Clarke who got in on the scoring. Four players scored in double-figures, with nine different Gonzaga players getting points in total. Rui Hachimura, in a good game, scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
With the win, the Gonzaga Bulldogs improved to 20-2 (7-0 in the WCC) on the season. Up next for Mark Few and company is a game against San Diego on Saturday.
