It’s not exactly new for the Gonzaga Bulldogs to enter the NCAA Tournament with a lofty set of expectations, but this might be the season the program is most equipped to deal with it.
Why would we think that? Because Gonzaga guard Josh Perkins said the team knows what to expect.
“As a one seed, everyone is coming after you and they want to beat you,” Gonzaga Bulldogs guard Josh Perkins said. “They will come in here with nothing to lose, play with reckless abandon. Being a one seed, we have to know that going in and master intensity and control what we can control.”
Obviously, it will be interesting to see just how far the Bulldogs can go in this year’s Big Dance, as narratives will run wild if they fail to make at least the Elite Eight.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs begin their NCAA Tournament voyage on Thursday. A classic 1 vs. 16 game and all that. With what happened to Virginia last year being a thing, Zags fans are hoping that sort of history was a once in a generation happening.
