DJ Steward, a four-star guard prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, has been extended a scholarship offer by the Indiana Hoosiers. This news was relayed on Twitter by Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten.
Indiana is in a slightly tough spot following last season. The 2018-19 campaign was less than stellar for the Hoosiers, and they’ll enter the 2019-20 slate losing a few key players to graduated and the NBA Draft.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have DJ Steward pegged as a four-star caliber recruit, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 110 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class.
According to Weingarten’s reporting, the young man scored 46 points on the day he was offered the scholarship.
The Indiana Hoosiers are obviously hoping to land the talented young man. While securing one-and-done talents like Romeo Langford is forever fun, having guys who will end up being around for a few years, helping to provide program stability, is as important.
