Malaki Branham, a four-star guard prospect out of the 2021 college basketball recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The news of the visit was relayed to members of the human species by way of the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten.
Along with the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Alabama Crimson Tide, Missouri Tigers, Illinois Fighting Illini and others, have already offered Malaki Branham a scholarship.
As for Malaki Branham, not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have him pegged as a four-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 26 (or so) best players in the entire 2021 recruitment cycle.
For disclosure: Weingarten’s tweet called the young man a five-star. While he is trending in that direction, as noted previously when there’s been slight disagreement with a player’s star ratings, CBBToday prefers to take the lower grading (if there’s not a majority agreement) to avoid the idea of sensationalizing for clicks. If we sensationalize, it’s for hugs and high-fives.
Only time will tell if the Iowa Hawkeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide, Missouri Tigers, Illinois Fighting Illini, Cincinnati Bearcats or another program land the youngster.
Until then, Malaki Branham has enough time to weigh his options and eventually make an educated decision.
