Ismael Massoud, a four-star forward prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has committed to play for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
This isn’t too shocking, as the young man cut his potential landing spots back in the middle of August to just five programs. Those programs were the Harvard Crimson, Auburn Tigers, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Obviously, Wake Forest won out.
Having played for the PSA Cardinals in the Nike EYBL, through 19 games, he averaged 7.7 points and 3.8 rebounds a game.
Most reputable recruiting service websites not only have Ismael Massoud pegged as a four-star recruit, but as one of the talents sitting just outside being considered one of the 100 best in the entire class. His ranking, of note, has moved up in some places and down in others. Not that the stars attached to a kid’s name means inherent greatness (or not positive stuff) awaits.
Likely a larger, 6-foot-9 small forward when he hits college, expect Massoud to have growing pains but to develop into a really nice player.
