Paolo Banchero, a five-star forward prospect out of the 2021 college basketball recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Kentucky Wildcats.
This report was relayed to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten, who also mentioned the Duke Blue Devils are closing in on an offer.
For what it’s worth, the interest appears to be flowing both ways.
“I mean, it’s Kentucky. You know, they’ve been putting dudes in the league, getting to the tournament, getting to the Final Four, championship, all that, for 10 years now,” Banchero recently said after showing out at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Virginia.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have Paolo Banchero pegged as a five-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s one of the six (or so) best players in the entire 2021 recruitment cycle.
Obviously, John Calipari attempting to lure one of the nation’s best players to the Kentucky Wildcats isn’t exactly a new thing. It will be interesting to see what happens from here on out, though.
