According to Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari, his guys are using the college basketball season to build the team step-by-step.
How do we know this? He literally said as much after Kentucky defeated the Texas A&M Aggies on Tuesday evening.
“The whole season is about building,” the Calipari said via the AP. “We won a game. We won a league game. We won our first league game. Good start.”
This is a big win for the Wildcats, as they were coming off an untimely loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide over the weekend. Even after that loss, however, most would admit it feels like years ago that Kentucky had its doors blown off by the Duke Blue Devils to start the season.
Tyler Herro is figuring it all out, having scored 21 points on Tuesday. Ashton Hagans chipped in with a career-high 18.
With the victory, the Kentucky Wildcats improved to 11-3 on the season (1-1 in SEC league play). Up next is a good test against Vanderbilt.
