Currently with the Golden State Warriors, former Boston College Eagles standout Ky Bowman was one of college basketball’s most dynamic volumes-shooters in the 2018-19 season.
While he didn’t get selected in the 2019 NBA Draft, with many using hindsight to claim he made a mistake leaving the Eagles, Bowman didn’t really see his exit from Boston College in that light.
“I just knew that it was that time to make a move; I gave BC as much as I could and I think everybody at BC supported me for that,” Ky Bowman told the Boston Globe. “I wanted to show what type of person I was away from the basketball court. I think BC helped me establish that.”
That’s as good of an endorsement the Boston College Eagles can get. Furthermore, depending on what happens with the Golden State Warriors, a good branding moment for the program.
Nevertheless, college basketball will miss Ky Bowman. The sport is at its most entertaining when guys from non-traditional schools for blue-blood programs into the fetal position. Not bad for a guy who was a higher rated football prospect than at basketball.
