Brandon Stone, a rising big man prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has committed to play for the La Salle Explorers. He made the announcement on Twitter.
Most reputable recruiting service websites have the 6-foot-11 big man pegged as a three-star recruit, but there’s a lot of upside here with Stone.
During the 2017-18 campaign, Brandon Stone finished with averages of 16.1 points, 11.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
A few other quality Division I programs were after his services, with the Auburn Tigers being the biggest school attempting to lure him onto their campus.
This is an extremely good get for the La Salle Explorers. Stone isn’t a four-star rated player or anything, but he is projected to be a four-year talent for the program. Furthermore, one who should develop quickly and nicely within the program’s system. It wouldn’t be shocking in a season or two for Stone to be one of the focal points on the roster.
Obviously, only time will tell how much of an impact he has in actuality. Until then, it’s all conjecture. Still, a team has to start somewhere, and there’s far worse places than by landing a raw, but filled with upside big man.
