Karim Mane, a five-star prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, will be checked in on by the Marquette Golden Eagles. The program is sending an assistant to do the visiting on Sunday.
Information of the Golden Eagles doing the recruitment visit was relayed to the human population on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers grassroots guru Jake Weingarten, who also mentioned that Georgetown Hoyas head coach Patrick Ewing saw Karim Mane last week.
Mane is an interesting prospect, but only because — despite being a member of the 2020 class — reputable recruiting websites have just begun to attach stars to his name in earnest.
All that do, it’s worth noting, not onlhy have Karim Mane pegged as a five-star caliber player, but as one of the 20 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class.
Nonetheless, the Marquette Golden Eagles are obviously sending the assistant to see him because they are interested in luring him to their campus — to play basketball. Lure is such a funny word.
The Maryland Terrapins and Arkansas Razorbacks have also shown heavy interest in Karim Mane.
