A college basketball loving nation might not yet fully understand how good Markus Howard is, but his teammates on the Marquette Golden Eagles sure do.
On Friday night, following a victory over the Southern Jaguars, all the talk was about Markus Howard and his 26 points (23 of those coming in the first 20 minutes).
“When he’s going like that, obviously just get out of the way,” teammate Sacar Anim said. “Just let him do his thing, just keep feeding him the ball.”
It’s certainly worth noting Howard barely played (just five minutes) in the last 20 minutes because of the game being a blowout. Probably also worth mentioning he made all eight of his shot attempts from the floor, as well as all six of his attempts from beyond the arc.
A perfect night, really.
“He’s having an incredible shooting run here,” coach Steve Wojciechowski said.
With the victory, Marquette improved to 11-2 for the 2018-19 college basketball season. As for Markus Howard, he’s now averaging over 25 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 44 percent from beyond the arc.
