The Maryland Terrapins have offered a scholarship to 2021 five-star power forward JT Thor. This news was relayed on Twitter by CBB Today writer and Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten.
He’s projected to be an insanely gifted talent the moment he hits a collegiate hardwood.
Maryland making the offer isn’t exactly shocking given how highly programs around the country view the young man. Despite his recruiting class being a few years out, blue-blood programs like the Kentucky Wildcats — and an entire host of others — have already begun courting Thor.
While the 2021 recruiting class is still a few years away, a few reputable recruiting services have already begun to track the players in it. According to those nifty websites, not only is JT Thor a five-star caliber player, but one of the 10 (or so) best players in the entire class.
Obviously, the Maryland Terrapins are hoping to land his services, as are most every other quality program in the country.
As it almost always does, time will tell us just what happens.
