Following a two-point victory over the Northwestern Wildcats on Tuesday night, the Michigan Wolverines were as excited for the learning lesson as they were for the victory.
Ignas Brazdeikis, who scored 23 points, used his availability to discuss the impact the close game will have on the team.
“I feel like a game like this brings us even more together, more chemistry, more everything,” Brazdeikis said, via The AP. “So this was really important for us.”
The Wolverines, now 9-0 on the season, have previously won in blowout fashion. In fact, before the close call against Northwestern, Michigan won its previous eight games by at least 17 points each.
“I knew we were going to have to go through games like this if we were going to be good,” coach John Beilein said. “We survived it — I don’t know how — but we made just enough good plays down the stretch.”
Obviously, time will tell how much of a correlation late-season success will be had thanks to this specific game, but it appears those within the Michigan Wolverines believe it will lead to good things.
