Dimitrios Stragalinos, a relatively hyped prospect out of the 2021 recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Nevada Wolf Pack. Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers fame reported the news on Twitter.
This is interesting if only because of the perception Nevada has gained the last few years of being a transfer-driven program. While it’s relatively fun for folks to lay easy narratives are the Wolf Pack, circling around the idea of being Transfer U, the program still does land actual high school recruits.
Eh, let’s digress.
As for Dimitrios Stragalinos, reputable recruiting service outlets that do track players this far out all tend to agree he’s not only an interesting talent, but one of the better players in the entire 2021 recruiting class. As we often note when discussing recruiting classes more than two years out, it’s vital to understand how much can change by the time 2021 does hit.
Nevertheless, Nevada is making a smart move by trying to get in with the talent this early. A bit of a developmental project, as are all kids his age, Stragalinos has a chance to end up as a rather special player.
