Cliff Omoruyi, a four-star big man prospect out of the 2020 recruiting class, met with Pittsburgh Panthers coach Jeff Capel on Friday. This news was relayed on Twitter by Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten, who also pointed out that the Kentucky Wildcats recently offered him a scholarship.
A 6-foot-11 talent from New Jersey, UConn, Florida, Auburn, and a whole host of other quality basketball schools are said to have interest in Omuruyi’s services.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have Cliff Omoruyi pegged as a four-star caliber prospect, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 65 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class. It explains why nearly every quality program would like for him to attend their school.
As for the Pittsburgh Panthers, while they’re not exactly coming off the best season in program history, Capel clearly showed the university it made the right move hiring him and moving on from Kevin Stallings.
Capel has been busy on the recruiting trail since taking over the job, often in the mix for the nation’s best players.
