The Pittsburgh Panthers landed their first commitment in the 2019 class. Gerald Drumgoole, a 6-foot-6 forward prospect, committed to the program by way of the mean streets of Twitter.
“As I continue to live my dream, I want to attend a school were [sic] I can help the team and develop into the best basketball player I possibly can be,” Drumgoole tweeted when announcing his commitment.
Not only do most reputable recruiting service outlets have Gerald Drumgoole pegged as a four-star player, but most tend to agree he’s around one of the 100 best players in the 2019 recruiting class.
He actually had a visit with the Pittsburgh Panthers last weekend.
As for Pitt, the 2018-19 season might not be perfect, but the Panthers appear to be doing well in a post-Kevin Stallings world. They’re not only above competent in the Jeff Capel era, but have been in the mix for several quality players on the recruiting trail.
Likely, this commitment is just the start.
