Dereon Seabron, a four-star prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Pittsburgh Panthers. This news was reported on Twitter by Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten.
Getting some semantics out of the way first, the youngster’s star ratings are a bit all over the place. Some websites do not yet have any stars attached to his name, others have only three, but 247Sports does have his composite ranking sitting at four-stars. Moreover, he’s just outside their top-100 players in the 2019 recruiting class.
Basically, the four-star rating isn’t yet widely accepted, but given how 247Sports is the most credible authority, we’re running with their composite ranking. Eh, we digress.
This is good news for the Pittsburgh Panthers. A program thriving ever since moving on from Kevin Stallings and entering the Jeff Capel era, Pitt has already found relative success this season and has been making steady waves on the recruiting trail.
Nevertheless, it’s early in this specific recruitment process. CBB Today will keep you posted as it develops.
