There might not be a cooler coach in college basketball than Ed Cooley, but that alone won’t be enough to get the Providence Friars in the NCAA Tournament.
Following a loss in the Big East Tournament, Cooley acknowledged he’d like to be given a pair of slippers to the Big Dance, but also admitted his team faltered in areas it shouldn’t have on the season.
“If we get in, I’ll be very excited. I hope we do,” Providence coach Ed Cooley said. “If we’re not, I’m going to be really proud of the guys and the effort that they had. But we left a lot of games on the table with our inconsistent approach in some of the games.”
Providence doesn’t have the strongest resume in the country, but the bubble is historically weak this season.
No matter what happens with everyone else still playing, the Providence Friars will have to wait until Selection Sunday to find out their fate.
