Andrei Savrasov, a member of the Russian national team, has committed to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. This news was broken on Twitter by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
It’s worth noting Givony had other information to go alongside the commitment.
Savrasov will reportedly enroll in the spring of this year, possibly redshirting, but having four years of eligibility remaining at the start of the 2019-2020 college basketball season.
A 6-foot-9 talent, Andrei Savrasov has yet to be tracked by most reputable recruiting service websites. That’s due to the fact there’s always a chance a player of his stature, who begins his career overseas, will opt to start their professional careers early.
A tough prospect to discuss, we’d be lying if we claimed to know a ton about him, though it does appear those who have are rather high on the young man.
Supposedly a bigger forward who can shoot threes, he theoretically fits Chris Beard’s Texas Tech system rather well.
