On Thursday, Breanna Beal gave her verbal commitment to play for South Carolina. The 6-foot wing player from Rock Island, Illinois chose the Gamecocks over schools like Louisville, Michigan, and Duke.
First thing to remember is that Beal is the No. 13 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100.
Immediately, South Carolina can now solidify its backcourt of the future with the commitment from Beal. The two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in Illinois is a versatile guard. Breanna Beal can be physical in the post to exploit mismatches and is confident with her jumper. She is deceptively quick and can be physical off the dribble.
Now, South Carolina has been able to receive two top-20 recruits this week and four other recruits have the Gamecocks listed as a potential landing spot for next season.
