The Tennessee Volunteers have been one of the best teams in college basketball all season long. A great combination of upperclassmen stars, coupled with roster balance, has given the Vols faithful a reason to believe plenty of noise will be made now that it’s March.
In a win against a very good Kentucky Wildcats team on Saturday, Tennessee was apparently less worried about any possible talent discrepancy, but instead wanted to focus on effort.
“The last game, they just manhandled us and they were the more physical team,” Jordan Bone said. “You could just tell the way the game went, they just wanted it more.
“We don’t ever want to go into a game or leave a game saying that about another team, they wanted it more than us. That’s something we challenged ourselves with.”
With the win, the Tennessee Volunteers improved to 26-3 on the season.
Considering they are insanely talented, it’s scary to think about just how focused they are on keeping a high level of effort. It will likely pay off in huge ways for the program come the NCAA Tournament.
