Tennessee Volunteers coach Rick Barnes has been around college basketball for a long time. In return, he knows how to put wins and losses in perspective, no matter the time of the season.
Following a blowout win over the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, the veteran head coach explained why the win, even if it appeared to be easy, is still huge.
“You can’t take it for granted,” Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said. “You just can’t think because you play at home, you can walk out and it’s going to happen. The fact is, these guys have worked hard and they’ve just grown as a team. Winning at home has been a byproduct of that, obviously.”
Lost in all the hype surrounding the Duke Blue Devils, the Tennessee Volunteers might be the most balanced team in all of college basketball. CBB Today has written about the Vols numerous times this season, including our love for Admiral Schofield (18 points on Saturday).
With the victory, the Vols improved to 12-1 on the season.
