Texas Tech Red Raiders head coach Chris Beard is hoping that his team gets an opportunity to continue to play in meaningful games this season.
The Red Raiders picked up an impressive 84-65 win over the TCU Horned Frogs on Monday night, which helped Beard’s team snap its three-game losing streak in Big 12.
And with the program off to a 17-4 start in the 2018-19 college basketball season, Beard knows that the Red Raiders will have plenty of big games ahead due to their success.
“It was a big game for us, first time on ESPN Big Monday in Lubbock since 2006,” Beard said after the game, according to the Associated Press. “We embrace that. We didn’t act like it wouldn’t happen and we embraced it because we want to play more meaningful games like this.”
With five Big 12 teams in the regular season title hunt right now, there’s no doubt that Texas Tech has what it takes to be at the top of the conference.
As for meaningful games, the Red Raiders won’t have to look far for their next one as they’ll hit the road on Saturday to take on the Kansas Jayhawks.
