EJ Liddell, a four-star forward prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has narrowed his final list of potential landing spots to five.
As per unwritten bylaws of the social media era, the talented youngster announced his final five by way of the mean streets of Twitter. And, according to his post, llinois, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Missouri and Kansas State are the schools left in the running to obtain his services.
Most reputable recruiting services place Liddell as one of the 40 best prospects in all of the 2019 recruiting class.
Illinois might seem relatively surprising given the other programs involved, but EJ Liddell is the reigning Mr. Basketball in Illinois and Gatorade Illinois Player of the Year. He’s essentially a hometown hero. The type Illinois is likely coveting to an insane degree.
Last season, he averaged nearly 21 and over 8 rebounds per contest. He last competed in the Nike Skills Academy, which he’s been attending since last Wednesday.
In an interesting aside, which will make him endearing to many, Liddell won a $1,000 prize from Gatorade, then promptly donated it to the Special Olympics.
We will keep you posted as his recruitment process continues.
