Kerry Blackshear, who was last trotting about college basketball hardwood floors for the Virginia Tech Hokies, is set to visit the Kentucky Wildcats.
This news was relayed on the mean streets of Twitter by Stockrisers and Rivals reporter Jake Weingarten, who mentioned the visit will take place on Tuesday. The reporter also said the talented player also recently visited with the Florida Gators, Arkansas Razorbacks and Tennessee Volunteers.
While there’s still a chance Blackshear can return to Virginia Tech, most expect the graduate transfer to land with a contender that can help elevate his NBA Draft stock. Prior to joining the transfer portal, Kerry Blackshear entered his name in the 2019 NBA Draft, ultimately deciding to return to the collegiate ranks.
Blackshear is arguably the best transfer heading into the 2019-20 college basketball season. Last campaign, he averaged 14.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the ACC.
Only time will tell if John Calipari, and his apparent new appreciate for graduate transfers, can convince the young man to join the Kentucky Wildcats.
